Just done this job on my daughter's 2007 focus (drums on the rear). It had torx E12 bolts - be very careful not to drop the bolts as you withdraw them (it's a fiddly job to retrieve them)! I had to use a slide hammer to get it off and the back plate was also stuck to the bearing, so I put it back in the hole, took the right hand break shoe clip off to give me room to get a chisel on the joint between the bearing and back plate, a couple slaps and it separated. On re-assembley a good tip is to put some kitchen roll or tissue paper over the bolt heads and tap them into the torx socket, it holds them tight while you feed them past the coil spring and shock absorber to find the bolt hole.
This job is extremely difficult unless the car is high up on a car lift. I tried doing this job on my driveway lying on the ground. These cars have huge amounts of corrosion on the rear hubs and rear axle areas. The torx 50 bolt heads are normally destroyed through heavy rusting over many many years. Need a induction heater or oxy acet torch to apply heat in several places for a long time I would expect.
The real scare is when you actually start doing this on your own car. :D My mechanic told me that he had spent 2 hours just unscrewing the damn bearing screws on my Focus, because they were never changed.
Literally ordered my bearing from Autodoc for Focus ST, bolts will likely be rusted in place unlike this vehicle, can never find videos of cars that get used often to show exactly what it's like to change rather than a best case scenario
Hello , I recently purchased my first car which is a 2009 Ford focus SE and I am currently trying to find the rear wheel bearing assembly for my car and I am in no luck so far I’m basically trying to do an entire front and rear brake replacement like everything. I went to the website auto dock but I’m having a lot of trouble understanding how to convert their titles of the cars for the Ford Focus model that I have can you please help me find the part or what it would be called?
Some mechanics said some parts from online shop was not good like bearings was going finished very fast... but mine it lasted for 2 good years...and was really good. I have seen one guy use ceramic sprei on brake parts years ago ? Is better or copper sprei is better? What is the difference???

I have a 2016 Ford Focus SE going to try to change the rear wheel bearing hub assembly my problem is difficult to get sockwrinch in between the shock and the spring I don't have a lift I'm just doing it in my backyard with a jack any suggestions or video you could share.
Unfortunately, we don't have any tutorials of replacing the brake drum on the rear in the Ford Focus mk2. But we have a lot of other videos of the Ford Focus mk2 and they can be found here: ruclips.net/p/PLWep5LzT0sxnk11fPepXityVK0Tu2keXC AUTODOC

So quick question I’ve done a lot of work on different cars and use ur uploads as a guide, how come yous never have rounded bolts or snapped bolts ??? The torx that hold Bering to car we’re rusty af and one was stripped had to heat it up till was glowing red and use bolt removal tool
New bearings come with 4 other kind of bolts You need to use a nr 10 ...and new bearings maybe run for 2 years good...and than you need New... And if you can't take the old bolts try with special tools and if you can't take them out just cut them... be careful...
sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Zaid Lionel thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I am so confused . Recently purchased a Ford focus 2009 SE model sedan I am trying to find the exact parts for my rear brake drums and the rear wheel bearing and tire assembly can someone please help me with matching up the title on auto doc to the specific parts that I need for the particular car that I have I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT
Haha good luck with this. Just changed them on my car, the torx bolts were rusted to nothing and an angle grinder is needed to grind the hub off from outside. I doubt you will find any car in good enough condition that those bolts can be removed normally. Sub par rust protection on these cars.
We cannot show all the nuances and problems during replacement; this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements must be carried out by specialized car services.
@@autodocuk Thanks for the reply. I'm a trained mechanic so it's fine, I just wanted to warn others who might attempt this that is quite a challenge if you don't have experience and a real workshop. Of course you choose cars in very good condition for your how-to videos, I don't blame you.
@@autodocuk yes excellent in that respect, id've just swapped the wheel for another for the video. What is the spare screw and rubber washer for in the box that comes with the new bearing?

It all depends on the technical condition of the car parts' joints.
Brilliant. Took the the scare out of the job. Thank you.

Would be great to see the similar video with the focus with the brake drums, not the brake disks 👍🏻
Thanks for your comment, we will definitely take this into account when shooting a new video.

enlightening video congrats guys
i was wondering if I need t do a reset after wheel bearing replacement (without an abs cable sensor)
Thank you for your request.
There is no need to reset after wheel bearing replacement.

Regarding the Rear Bearing Torque, the Haynes manual (4785) specifies 55nm ? Where do you get the 65nm from ?

Hi, what length is the extension bar used to remove the Torx bolts into the wheel bearing
Would this be the same process for a Volvo C70 ? as I understand the C70 used Ford suspension parts during that period Ford owned them !
Would this install be similar on a 2018 Focus ST?

I need to do it on a galaxy. But the torque is 110NM according to ford manuals. Can you confirm?

After torqueing, you're supposed to back off the bolts 90 deg, then re-torque!!
Why? What does this do?
@@keithd5061 I guess the bolts are pre-stressed?
Good 👍👍👍
You should never ever put copper or any grease. Between mating suffices
